My name is Mike and I have been doing the carp fishing in Tenerife since 1999. I do half day trips for people on holiday, but I can also arrange a week's holiday (7 nights) including 5 days fishing, 8 hours a day, including apartments with communal pool

Here is what I have to offer - the carp pit is a deep water holding reservoir for the vinyard on the mountain. The views around it are impressive and the air is wonderful. I have got a great stock of carp in there. It is not one of these places where you come with 3 rods and alarms and wait for a week to catch one fish; there is plenty of action. You can fish my place with all different kinds of methods. You can fish on the wagler, pole fish or float.

The fish range from half a pound to 33 lbs. I have common carp, very nice looking mirrors, and of course wild carp. The best day so far recorded is 67 fish in the 8 hour session, ranging from 1 lb to 15 lbs. The weather on the mountainside is nearly always sunny and a half day fishing with a cold beer and guaranteed catch makes a great addition to your holiday

The pit has 12 pegs on it and the depth is impressive - some parts are 18 feet deep. The shallowest is 8 feet and we have a few shelves 2 foot wide that go all the way round. The bottom is clean with no snags at all, so there is no need for very heavy tackle, but there is a minimum of 10lb line just in case you run onto one of the bigger fish. We normally fish with sliding float which is very popular, or ledger, or you can take them off the top when the fish are on form and feeding - its like almost as if you can walk across them !

This trip is excellent for beginners and children, and of course the more experienced fisherman. Very much like fishmenia but it does have big fish and you are guaranteed to catch. Included in the price is a fully air conditioned mini bus laid on 7 days a week to pick you up and take you to the venue and return

Times: If you are a group, then you can pick the hour you want to fish - if you wanted to stay out late the evening before, we could arrange the trip from 11am to 7 pm; but normally the hours are 9am until 5 pm

If you wanted the option of doing a night session, I can arrange that as well but be sure to use some mosquito repellent.

Summer fishing here is not like England - the fish bite better than ever and the surface fishing is great fun.

For anglers fishing all week, we usually go to one of the typical Canarian restaurants on the mountain for one of their impressive 24 oz filet steaks with excellent wine made in the north of the island. Top night out in the rustic surrounds of the restaurant.

You can also bring your companion on this trip. While you are fishing, they could accompany you, or holiday by the coast or the pool and then meet up in the evening.
